Posted on Oct 12, 2010 under Computer | No Comment

Most computers which are built in the last few years, supports boot from USB option. Check it by entering in your computer BIOS. In Boot sequence option, check if “BOOT form USB device” or similar thing is available or not. If you see this option then select it and save. Now restart your computer.

Profilew.exe and rdpua.exe virus or what??

Posted on Dec 14, 2009 under Computer, Security | 1 Comment

Everything was going very smooth until I got the another virus. I didn’t find two much information regarding this on google or anywhere.

Yesterday, Avast gave me warning twice regarding this virus at time of booting my PC yesterday. I followed the steps to remove it but it’s not deleting completely. When ever I starts my computer I see two MS Dos screens appears and disappears. They are creating these two files each time restart computer:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\profilew.exe
and
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\rdpua.exe virus

Now Avast don’t give any warning.. (Even if i run Complete scan).. But these two files are coming back even after deleting..

If anyone can help me to remove this then please let me know..

How to fix rotated monitor screen

Posted on Sep 21, 2009 under Computer, Uncategorized | No Comment

rotated screenI was away for few minutes from my home computer and my 5 year old daughter took my seat. This is what she always do. When I came back, I was surprised to see that everything on monitor was showing vertically. Taskbar was showing in right side from bottom to top and desktop icon was aligned to bottom from right to left as in the picture. I had no idea what I should do.. I restarted my computer few times but no luck.

After spending few hours on net searching the solution of the  problem, I finally found it.. Actually Intel Graphics card is used in that computer. If you press ctrl+alt+ direction keys (up-down-left-right), the monitor screen will rotate in that direction..

So pressing CTRL+ ALT+ Down key fixed my screen and got it’s normal position.

Or you may also try this:
Right click on desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > “Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver” tab.
Click on “Graphics Properties” tab and then on “Rotation” tab.
Make your changes.

PS: This will only work if Intel Graphics card (Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver) is installed in your computer.

Gigabyte’s new micro ATX motherboard has unbeatable home cinema credentials

Posted on Dec 08, 2008 under Computer | No Comment

It’s a relief to see a new AMD product that’s bang on target. We speak, of course, of the 780G chipset (Gigabyte GA-MA780GM-S2H). It really is the killer home cinema solution that we’ve been waiting for.

The best bits are the UVD video decode engine and the comprehensive array of video outputs. The former ensures that CPU load remains at around 50 per cent, when decoding a full 1080p AVC stream. And that’s with a 2.5GHz dual-core Athlon 64 chip. Add in HDMI, DVI ports and HDCP and you have the first integrated solution that delivers on the HD home cinema concept.

The fact that it’s dirt cheap in this form is a real bonus. Indeed, it’s probably possible to build a full Blu-ray-capable media PC using this board as a base for under $450. IncredibleFree Web Content, really.

Posted on Nov 12, 2008 under Computer, Security | 1 Comment

If Avast antivirus is installed after installing MSN/Windows Live Messenger then you have to setup messenger manually so that it can scan all files transferred via the messenger. Here is how it can be done..

1. Open Messengers ‘Options’ window ( Messenger Main menu > Tools > Options.. )
msn-avast-setting

2. Click on ‘File Transfer’ Tab.
3. Select “Scan files for viruses using” check box and enter path of ‘ashQuick.exe’ file. In my case it is..
“C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe”

4. Click on apply and then ok.
5. done.
